Rules & Regulations

General

  • Licence plate information must be registered with Parking Services. Your registered licence plate provides access to your designated parking lot. All vehicles parked on property must have a payment or permit associated with their licence plate.
  • Parking permit holders with multiple vehicles may add up to 4 vehicles to their parking account to use with their permit. Please note: Only one vehicle can use your parking permit at a time. If you need a second vehicle on campus at the same time, you must purchase an additional daily rate for any additional vehicle, which can be done using the Honk app/website.
  • The purchase of a parking permit does not guarantee that a space is available in your designated lot. You may occupy a space in another lot of lower value provided there are no spaces in the lot designated by your permit (e.g., Lot 8 permit in Lot 9). A higher priced permit can always be used to occupy a lower priced lot space should space in your designated lot is not available.
  • Parking Services will monitor, patrol, and enforce Municipal, Provincial by-laws and College parking policies. Parking infraction notices may be issued for violations.
  • If you drive a different vehicle than the one registered on your account, you can temporarily assign it to your account online.
  • The College is the only legitimate distributor of parking permits on any Algonquin College campus. Any permit purchased from any other source is invalid. A vehicle displaying an alternate permit will be immediately ticketed and towed.
  • Parking permits are non-transferable.
  • Permit holders are responsible for all vehicles registered to their account.
  • Vehicles should not be parked overnight unless authorized by Parking Services or unless the vehicle is parked in Lot 11 bearing a valid Algonquin College Lot 11 permit.

Violations

Parking privileges may not be renewed or can be revoked at any time by Parking Services for parking violations or non-payment of parking fines. Parking violations include, but are not limited to:

  • Parking in a higher priced lot than the permit displayed (e.g., Lot 9 in Lot 8 permit lot).
  • Time purchased for parking has expired
  • Vehicles parked in restricted spaces such as Accessible spaces or loading zones.
  • Parking on roadway shoulders, grassed areas, fire lanes, fire routes or in no parking areas.
  • No permit displayed or payment registered to licence plate.
  • Triple parking where only two rows are available.
  • Other Municipal bylaws or violations provided for in provincial legislation.
