Accessible Lockers
As part of a pilot project for improving accessible services, Locker Services has installed four specially-designed accessible lockers at the Ottawa campus. These lockers are located at:
- B building, first floor (northwest corner)
- C-J link/bridge (near the Learning Resource Centre)
- J building, second floor (near link to T building)
- T building, second floor (near elevator)
These accessible lockers are designed to accommodate wheelchair-using clients and are equipped with a magnetic lock. Any clients wishing to rent these lockers should inquire with Locker Services regarding their availability.
Electronically-Opened Accessible Lockers
Locker Services is involved in an ongoing project to further automate accessible lockers. In partnership with the School of Technology and Trades, Locker Services is working with Electrical and Mechanical Engineering students to improve accessible services to the student body.
A pilot locker model has been developed by Algonquin students, and won a prize at Algonquin College’s 10th annual Applied Research Day.
Locker Services will continue to develop accessible lockers, so that it can bring these innovations to the student body.
