Let’s Get Social!
From May 10-13, join us for four days of programming designed to help you meet your peers and College departments, plus have some fun! From a field trip to the Tulip Festival to a virtual taco night, there’s going to be something planned for everyone. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet people from different departments at Algonquin College to find out how they can support you and help you succeed.
Open to all Algonquin College students.

Tuesday, May 10
4pm-5pm • Michael the Magician Show
Join us in the ACCE Atrium for an exciting blend of amazing magic, mind-blowing mental feats, and laugh-out-loud comedy! This is a show guaranteed to boggle your mind!
Be ready for your close-up! Michael incorporates the help of many volunteers along the way. You could be a part of the show!
Michael Bourada is an award-winning entertainer, one of the most sought-after event magicians in Canada, and is featured in over 300 events every year! He has performed in Las Vegas showrooms, countless high-end corporations, and luxury resorts. He is one of the only Canadian magicians to be featured on Penn & Teller: Fool Us.

Drop by the AC Hub (2nd Floor, Student Commons) to enjoy a delicious free breakfast and live music by the talented Braden Foulkes.
Thursday, May 12
3:30pm-5pm • Virtual Cooking Class: Taco Night
Did someone say tacos?! Join us for a virtual cooking class with The Chef Upstairs as we make fresh, delicious tacos featuring the protein of your choice, guacamole, and tortillas made from scratch. Yum!
Registration deadline is Tuesday, May 10, at 12:00pm.
Friday, May 13
9:30am-1:30pm • Tulip Festival Field Trip
After a hectic first week of the Spring 2022 semester, take a moment to stop and smell the tulips! Join us for a field trip to the Canadian Tulip Festival in Commissioner’s Park as it celebrates its 70th anniversary!
Trip Schedule:
- 9:30am – Check-in and coffee in the AC Hub
- 10:00am – Board the bus to the festival
- 10:15am – Depart for the festival
- 11:00am – Guided tour of festival grounds
- 12:00pm – 12:45pm – Free time to explore
- 12:45pm – Board the bus back to Algonquin College
- 1:00pm – Depart for Algonquin College
Register at the AC Hub Front desk (2nd Floor, Student Commons) with a $20 cash deposit (reimbursed at the event to ensure attendance). Tickets are limited (first-come, first-served). One per student.
- Cancellations: To receive a refund, please cancel your ticket in person at the AC Hub desk 48 hours before the event.
- Latecomers: If you are more than 15 minutes late, you will not be able to collect your deposit and your spot will be given to the next student.
