The exercise leader is provided with a fundamental background in nutrition as it relates to a healthy lifestyle, optimal health and peak performance. Topics include the major nutrients, food labeling, fluid and electrolyte balance, antioxidants and phytochemicals, weight management, vitamins and minerals and how each affects wellness and performance. Current nutritional trends relevant to the fitness industry are introduced.
