Academic Clearance Requirements for ABS Placements

Academic clearance will be confirmed by the academic area once the placement deadline has passed.

Part-time Students
Part-time student clearance will be reviewed after the placement deadline has passed, and students will receive the next steps to register for placement and seminar courses once eligibility is confirmed (this includes documentation submission as well as both academic and ParaMed clearance). Part-time students must be approved to register by the Field Placement Officer in order to register for placement and seminar courses. Only students who have submitted the online ABS Placement Request Form and met the clearance requirements will be eligible to register.

Full-time Students
Academic clearance and registration is completed automatically for full-time students.

If you are currently enrolled in one or more of the prerequisite courses as indicated below, you will need to complete the course(s) with a passing grade in order to be eligible for placement. If you do not pass one or more of the prerequisite courses you will not be eligible for placement.

FAM0025 Field Placement I

Full-time students planning to complete FAM0025 require: FAM0040 and FAM0041 and FAM0055 (formerly FAM0045) and FAM0056
Part-time students planning to complete FAM0025 require: FAM0015, FAM0016, FAM0055 (formerly FAM0018) and FAM0056

FAM0026 Field Placement II

Full-time students planning to complete FAM0026 require: FAM0025 and FAM0044 and FAM0047 and FAM0048
Part-time students planning to complete FAM0026 require: FAM0025 and FAM0017 and FAM0020 and FAM0021
