Message from the President – Winter Storm Update

Dear Colleagues and Learners,

As you know, earlier this week Environment Canada declared a winter storm warning for our region, with freezing rain and rapidly accumulating snow affecting road conditions throughout eastern Ontario. Late last night, the Algonquin College Executive Team decided to close our Pembroke Campus due to deteriorating conditions in that area. The Pembroke Campus will remain closed until Friday at 7:30 a.m.

At 5:30 a.m., the Executive Team reconvened and decided that, based on the forecast and a number of other factors, the Ottawa and Perth Campuses will remain open. All regularly scheduled classes and activities will proceed as usual in those locations.

We are committed to providing a safe learning and working environment for our College community and will continue to monitor this situation. We ask everyone to please allow extra time for travel and to take extra caution as you make your way to and from the College. We will all need to show understanding, patience and flexibility as we weather this storm together.

Please watch the College’s social media accounts and email for updates.

Sincerely,

Claude
