UPDATE: Dec. 13, 2020
Dear Colleagues and Learners:
Earlier today the Renfrew County District Health Unit confirmed a student at Algonquin College’s Pembroke Campus has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. This positive case is in addition to the three employees who tested positive for the virus earlier this week.
We continue to wish that the affected employees and student make a prompt and full recovery from the virus.
Algonquin College is committed to the health and safety of our community. Thank you to everyone for continuing to help us protect our employees and students.

Dear Colleagues and Learners:
This week we have been working with the Renfrew County District Health Unit because three Pembroke Campus employees received positive COVID-19 test confirmations.
All of these employees have been self-isolating and have not been on campus this week. Due to the number of cases and the workplace connection, the Health Unit is declaring a COVID-19 pandemic outbreak at Algonquin College’s Pembroke Campus. We are following the Health Unit’s direction regarding operations and contact tracing. The Health Unit is making contact with anyone who had close personal contact with the infected employees and will provide them direction on isolation and testing.
On behalf of our entire College community, I want to wish our affected employees a prompt and full recovery.
The College is continuing to monitor the situation and will issue further updates as required. The Pembroke Campus is open and continues to operate normally for select services and those programs with hands-on learning components.
In the meantime, it is essential that we continue to follow all of our COVID-19 health and safety protocols, including maintaining a 2-metre distance from others, hand washing, coughing and sneezing etiquette, wearing masks at all times indoors, and wearing masks when it is not possible to stay 2 metres away from others when outdoors.
Algonquin College is committed to the health and safety of our community. Thank you for continuing to help us protect our employees and students.
