Message from the President – September 18
Posted on Friday, September 18th, 2020
Dear Colleagues and Learners,
An announcement has been released from the provincial government outlining changes to unmonitored social gatherings.
Effective September 18, 2020 at 12:01 am, the new maximum number of people permitted to attend unmonitored, social gatherings and organized public events in Ottawa will be reduced to 10 people indoors or 25 people outdoors.
The new rules do not apply to monitored social gatherings or organized public events held in staffed businesses and facilities. As a result, there should be no direct impact on the current state of College operations.
While the College is not directly impacted by the change, we continue to support the efforts of the provincial government and our local public health unit in actions being taken to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our community. We will continue to ensure that all College operations and decisions are respectful of these new rules and applicable regulatory requirements.
For the health and safety of our community, please remember that only those who need to be on campus for required academic activity or limited support services, should be on campus. Our goal is to limit the number of students and employees on our campuses at any given time.
And you can continue to do your part both on and off campus to help reduce the spread of infection by following public health guidelines and College health and safety practices such as frequent hand-washing, not touching your face, physical distancing and wearing masks when required.
Thank you.
