Algonquin College Coronavirus Update – Global Travel Advisory
Posted on Saturday, March 14th, 2020
Dear Colleagues and Learners,
As you know, information about the coronavirus (COVID-19) and its impact around the world and domestically is changing at a rapid rate.
Further to our recent communique, the Canadian Government has recently announced a global travel advisory to avoid all non-essential travel outside of Canada. Further, the Canadian and Ontario governments have recently requested that ALL persons returning from international destinations self-isolate for 14 days.
Out of concern for the public health of our community and the College community, Algonquin College is adopting this as an interim policy for all employees and students who are currently abroad, effective immediately.
Until further notice, employees are to contact their supervisors upon their return to confirm their arrival and adherence to this policy. Students are asked to contact their course professors/instructors and academic program coordinators to advise similarly.
During this period, the remote work and study measures that the College has taken will be available to help facilitate the 14-day self-isolation.
Thank you for your continued attention to these important matters.
Sincerely,
Claude Brulé
President and CEO
