Elevated Water Levels – Pembroke and Perth Campus Update

Algonquin College’s Emergency Management team has been closely following the rising water levels across all campuses.

In Pembroke, flood levels are in decline, and information from the Ottawa River Regulation Planning Board indicates peak levels have been reached and have declined today and will continue to recede. The water levels will continue to be monitored, although at this point in time it is not believed water will reach a level that will threaten the Pembroke Campus building.

At the College’s Perth Campus, which is currently experiencing water overflow from the nearby wet lands, the buildings and outbuildings remain unaffected by the rising water. However, there is currently some water intrusion in the parking lot area, reducing the number of available parking spots. The Emergency Management team will continue closely monitoring the situation.

We encourage anyone with concerns to visit the City of Ottawa website for up to date information regarding the impact of the floods and proactive measures.

The College community will be updated as the situation develops.
