Job Well Done by our AC BDC Vanier Cup National Marketing Case Challenge Team!

2015 Algonquin College Team

This past weekend Morgan DeVries, Scott Fawcett, and Aaron Quinn, participated in the BDC Vanier Cup Case Challenge. This is a yearly case challenged, hosted in Montreal, and is a two day national marketing competition. The students were coached, and accompanied by William Garbarino, and Jim Neubauer. Each of the students brought a unique skill set to the competition, that when combined, amounted to an incredible effort. The case was about a company that provides magicians to corporate events, and birthday parties. With business cards in hand, they presented a unique marketing opportunity to a panel of judges, with a professionalism that was unmatched by any other college in their division. Although they did not place in their division, these students demonstrated a high level of professionalism, and sportsmanship.

These three students and their coaches did not go to Montreal alone; they were accompanied by their alternative, Samantha Guyan. She accompanied them to gain more insight into the competition, so that she may represent the school next year. There were also four other students who went down to support their friends, Hailey Hamilton, Kaitlin Hay, Emily Robinson, and Benjamin Valiente. The competitors later talked about the comfort in presenting in front of familiar faces, instead of a panel of judges.

Each student that participated took away something unique and something different. Everyone here at the college would like to congratulate the Morgan, Scott and Aaron, on a job well done, you made Algonquin proud!

Thank yous also go out to Samantha Guyan, Hailey Hamilton, Kaitlin Hay, Emily Robinson, and Benjamin Valiente for being a tremendous support to their peers; and to Bill and Jim for walking the talk and providing such an amazing opportunities to these students.
