Industry endorsements for the Mobile Application Design & Development diploma program.

I am writing to you as a show of support for the Mobile Application Developer program.

As the digital marketplace explodes across a growing array of screens and devices, audiences demand more choice and control over how and when they engage with content. Publishers, agencies, and broadcasters are seeking trained individuals to develop comprehensive, flexible, mobile solutions that will allow them to reach customers, monetize content, and build brands.

The education sector has a great opportunity before it, to prepare students through a designer developer framework, to address the mobile application development needs – which literally spans across every industry sector.

Curriculum that focuses on creating, delivering, and optimizing content is the answer. And Algonquin’s MAD program is right on target with its vision and course outline.

And from a technology perspective, the timing couldn’t be better. With the release of CS5.5, Adobe has unleashed the ultimate toolkit for designing content, digital magazines, eBooks, and websites, deliverable across smartphones and tablets, from Android to iOS.

From an access perspective, Algonquin is in an incredible position. With the Adobe campus agreement in place, all staff, faculty and students will have 24×7 access to Adobe’s library of design, authoring, and development tools, at school and at home.

We are excited for this program, and look forward to supporting it!
