How does Game – Art differ from the Game – Development program?
The Game Art program primarily emphasizes the visual aspect of art/design for video game development, while the Game Development program provides significant overlap between both coding and art/design.

Do I need to have drawing or programming skills prior to taking the program?
No. Prospective students are assumed to be at the beginner level and will learn the fundamentals.

What kind of work is done in the program?
Students will delve into all of the visual aspects of video games, while working closely with technology. This includes 2D drawings, 3D modeling & sculpting, working with UV’s, texturing, rigging, animating as well as working with assets within game engines. Many other valuable skills are learned for audio, cinematics, group projects, workflow and visual coding.

What software do you use?
The Game Art uses such a number of industry standard tools, such as 3ds Max (Autodesk), Zbrush, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Substance Painter and Designer, Unreal Engine and Unity Engine, as an example.

Are there devices/software I will need to purchase?
A drawing tablet is highly recommended. All popular brands will work well, such as Wacom, Huion, XP-PEN, among others.
