Student Experience
What to Expect
Students in Algonquin College’s Broadcasting Radio program receive intensive training throughout the two-year program. Students are encouraged to find their passion in radio skills, writing, on-air, or production, in order to develop an impressive concentration of skills in at least one area of radio broadcasting. Theory is put into practice as students learn on the job at two Algonquin College radio stations: CKDJ 107.9 is licensed by the CRTC, and AIR AM 1700 (Algonquin Internet Radio) is delivered over the Internet.
Work-Integrated Learning
Students also benefit from a field placement within the industry where they will continue to hone their skills.
