Community of Practice: AI for Learning and Teaching
Connect with colleagues from across Algonquin to discuss and explore ideas related to the use of Generative AI for learning and teaching.
The AI for Learning and Teaching Community of Practice welcomes employees from all campuses to participate in ongoing discussion, idea sharing, and learning activities.
Current members include faculty, and individuals from LTS (Learning and Teaching Services), CAL (Centre for Accessible Learning), the Library, and the Academic Integrity Office.
Employees from all three campuses are welcome!
What to Expect
The structure of meetings will adapt to the needs and interests of the group. In general, participants can expect opportunities to share experiences, discuss ideas, and learn about tools, tips, and resources. It is intended to be a collaborative, supportive space where everyone can share their struggles, successes, and personal insights. It is also a great place to get peer advice and feedback on GenAI activities you may wish to try. In addition, there may be opportunities to co-experiment with tools and GenAI practices for learning and teaching.
We aim to spark curiosity, make connections, and build confidence!
No previous knowledge or experience using GenAI is required.
Format
Groups will meet every 3 weeks throughout the 2024/25 academic year. You can attend as few or as many meetings as you wish.
