About the Tour
President Claude Brulé is scheduled to engage in informal conversations with employees and students this fall from September 26th to November 15th. The sessions will include employees from each department and academic area across Algonquin College. Students’ Association class representatives will be invited to convey the experiences in their own dedicated session. The tour will make every attempt to be inclusive with employees across all of our campuses and will stop in Perth, Pembroke, and Ottawa. We will also engage the College community online.
Employees and students who choose to take part will help identify the College’s future priorities. The President will open each session with the assistance of a third party facilitator and observer. Employees and students will be asked to contribute to the conversation by responding to four questions:
- What opportunities will lead us to greater success, and how would you pursue them?
- What is challenging us that we need to improve on in order to ensure a sustained future?
- As we build our future, what do we need to keep doing well?
- If you were me, what is the one thing you would focus on first?
Additional details on the process:
Participating employees and students are also asked to respond to a survey at the end of the session by entering unique codes online at www.menti.com. Through the session, the facilitator will ensure there is a fulsome discussion among all attendees within the time allotted. Additionally, the facilitator and the observer will be taking notes of the employee and student contributions in each session. After each session, the team will gather the responses and posts them to a dedicated page for each question at the President’s Listening Tour web site. Once all of the ideas are listed, the team will identify themes for a final report that will be reported back to the College.
