Food for Fines

It’s the most wonderful time of the year – the return of the Library’s annual Food for Fines program!

Have you incurred a late fee from an overdue item? Clear your outstanding fines and help your community by dropping off your non-perishable donations at your campus library, and we will forgive up to $1.00 for each donated item accepted. (Ramen and similar noodle packages will be accepted at $1.00 for every 2 packs.)

List of Suggested Items:

  • Peanut Butter
  • Cereal or Granola Bars
  • Body Soap or Shampoo
  • Hygiene Products
  • Canned Meat or Canned Fruit
  • Rice

To ensure that all items can be used by those that need them, the Library will not be able to take any meat, dairy, alcohol, or any open, unmarked, expired/suspect items.

Don’t owe any late fees? Consider donating a non-perishable food item, or a monetary gift to support this worthy cause.

Donations made at the Ottawa and Pembroke campuses will support the Student Association’s Food Cupboards. Donations made at the Perth campus will support The Table Community Food Centre.

Food for Fines will run from Monday, November 26th to Friday, December 14th, 2018.
Please drop off donations during open Library hours only.

Thank you for your generous support!
