Before Class
Test your microphone settings through Zoom.
Encourage virtual students to join the Zoom session at least 5 minutes earlier. This gives them time to test their audio ahead of time.
Before/During Class
If a virtual student is having audio trouble, they can:
- Turn their video off (to reduce strain on Internet connection)
- Test their microphone through Zoom
If they continue to have audio issues, they can communicate via text through Zoom’s chat tool.
Encourage students to bring their ear buds or headphones. This will allow virtual and in-person students to interact as groups or pairs without being distracted by classroom noise. Text chat can also be used for communication.
