Faculty-led Trips
Travelling with faculty from your Algonquin College program can add a special dimension to your time at the college, leading to a deeper understanding of your professional field, stronger bonds with your program mentors, and lifelong friendships with your classmates. Students may also be eligible for credit or placement hours through their program.
“I was able to work in the Bateyes (Consuelo, Dominican Republic) with many of the health care professionals from the local clinic. We had two stations set up, both with a doctor and two students performing the assessments, a pop-up pharmacy that the patients would grab their prescriptions from, and a station where we would provide families with hygienic essentials.” – Natasha
Need examples to convince you to go?
How about faculty-led course that culinary students take in Montenegro, where they earn level 3 semester credits while working at the college’s fully functioning teaching restaurant ?
Or the general education course (a general elective open to all students) that takes students on an 8-day trip to Costa Rica in February?
These are just a couple of the opportunities that dozens of AC students have already pursued – ask your program coordinator about faculty-led trips in your program or explore the opportunities on this website.
