International Peer Mentee Application

Sign up to be a mentee in Algonquin College’s International Peer Mentor Program. Complete the application form today.

Registration opens for Winter 2025 term on November 14 and will remain open until the end of January 2025. You will be contacted by the Program’s organizer shortly after completing the application. If you have any questions, please reach out to internationalmentor@algonquincollege.com.

Note: When the capacity of the program is reached, you will be put on a waitlist.

Eligibility-New international students who are set to start their 1st semester at the Ottawa campus of Algonquin College in the next upcoming semester

-Be willing to be engaged in the community
Benefits of Becoming a Mentee-Have a ‘go to person' in the college to turn to whenever there are difficulties

-Receive tips and suggestions from senior peers

-Help to ease your transition as you navigate a new country and academic system

-Make instant connections with your peers and join our wonderful community

-Remain updated about events, activities, and opportunities in Algonquin College
Responsibilities -Respond to your mentor’s communication within a reasonable time frame

-Have appropriate expectations of your mentors

-Be respectful and appreciative of mentors' time and assistance

-Participate in the program’s feedback surveys
What to Expect-Several days after you successfully sign up for the program you will receive a welcome email from our program's organizer

-The next communication you hear will be an email introducing you to your new mentor!

-Throughout the semester, you will receive regular communication from your mentor via email or your preferred means of contact

-Your mentor will offer you at least 1 scheduled in person or virtual meet up per month

-You will also be invited to attend on and off campus events together
