The best way to connect with new friends and adapt to Algonquin College is to get involved in events, activities and more.

International Peer Mentor Program (IPM)

Are you a new or returning student? Would you like to connect with an International Peer Mentor to help you connect to student life and to events on and off campus? To learn more, please visit our International Peer Mentor program webpages.

If you have any questions about the program, please email internationalmentor@algonquincollege.com.

Events and Workshops

Workshops are designed to help you. We have a variety of workshops designed to assist you throughout your studies at Algonquin. These range from Academic to Employment to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) support. Check our Events Calendar for upcoming dates. We will also send you reminders to your Algonquin Live email address. We will keep you up to date with events hosted by the International Education Centre.

Volunteer/Co-Curricular Record

One of the best ways to get involved is to volunteer. You will meet new friends, open your network and gain valuable skills, which you can add to your resume. Your Co-Curricular Record is a an official non-academic record of your volunteer, leadership an other college related activities.

We have hundreds of recognized activities available for students to choose from and we continue to accept new activity requests each day. The Co-Curricular Record year is defined from May 1 – April 30 and is not retroactive.

AC Hub (2nd floor of Student Commons)

Visit the AC Hub to find out how you can get involved. They can help you connect with a Student Navigator, events and activities on and off campus and so much more.

Clubs and Communities

Clubs and Communities are a great way to meet like-minded students and heighten your experience at Algonquin College.

Do you have an idea for a club or community that does not exist?

Start your own. You can apply for funding from the Students’ Association to start your own club.

For more information, visit the Clubs and Communities office in the Student Commons, Room E209. Want to know what Clubs and Communities already exist? Check out the Clubs and Communities Directory.
