PROGRAM: Day 2

This year’s event is even bigger and better than ever!

  • Two full days of enlightening talks, panels and technical demonstrations,
  • Youth arts-based, cyber-privacy-security themed performances including, a live band, dance performances and comedy/drama skits on Day 2.

Each day is a very full one in order to maximize the number of talks. On Day 2, the Registration and Information desk opens at 8:30 A.M. The Trade Show and Job Fair opens at 9:00 A.M. The Theatre doors open at 9:00 A.M. and the Event begins at 9:30 A.M. The day ends at 4:00 P.M.

Please note that food and drinks are not permitted in the Theatre, as per a general Theatre policy. Water is permitted. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.

There are no charge Refreshment and Networking breaks morning and afternoon as well as a no charge Lunch break.

Youth Day Features

  • Interactive, engaging sessions, including keynote presentations, discussion panels, audience Q & A and youth arts-based, privacy-security themed performances including, a live band, dance performances and comedy/drama skits.
  • Free refreshment breaks and lunch will be provided.
  • Returning is the popular high-tech cyber security Trade Fair with global leading companies and our first showcase of Foundation Sponsors.
  • Also back is the Job Fair, with many of the cyber security companies undertaking recruiting efforts right on campus.
  • More tech talk, a hacking village and cyber security demonstrations!
  • Admission is free for students, teachers and all interested youth day attendees.

  • What are the current and future skills, certifications, etc. that government and private sector are looking for?
  • What are the opportunities for students as they move forward into the work world, in both government and private sector?
  • What careers are available in the Information Security and Privacy fields?

HR Recruiting

  • Why is my digital tattoo so important in my job hunt?
  • How can it be used to my advantage or disadvantage?
  • What Privacy tools and techniques should I use to protect my online identity digital trails?

2. Privacy and Security

  • How am I giving away my privacy with the technology I use? How can it impact me today, tomorrow? How can I protect myself?
  • What opportunities exist in the area of privacy and security? Can I build the next app to address this growing issue? How do I factor security into this?
  • What policy and legal considerations/implications influence the privacy and security environment? What is the path forward? Does privacy and security stifle or compliment innovation?

3. Starting a Business/Growing an Idea

  • I have an idea for a new app/product/service. How do I build it?
  • How do I get funding, develop a brand and messaging, set-up shop?
  • What are the privacy and security implications and considerations in building my business when I/my company is responsible for the protection of the data that I/we use, store and share (employee data, corporate data, client data, etc.)?

4. My Online Brand

  • How do I build a positive, interesting online brand?
  • How do I keep my brand positive and relevant?
  • How does my social media use affect my brand? How does a seemingly simple tweet, snapchat, Instagram, speech, comment, etc. go viral in the media?
  • How can I protect my data online and secure it? Is this even possible?
