CEO, March Networks
Peter Strom has over 20 years of experience in the global security industry and has worked with the world’s leading financial services, retailer and central banks. Peter is currently the President and CEO of March Networks, a globally recognized developer of advanced IP-based video surveillance equipment and business intelligence software.
Peter has been in his current role since 2003 and under his guidance, March Networks has grown from $6 million USD to over $100 million USD in annual revenue and has become the preferred supplier to over 500 banks worldwide. The company completed a public listing on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) and London AIM market in 2005 achieving a market capitalization of $700M before being acquired in 2012.
Prior to joining March Networks, Mr. Strom served as the President and CEO of Gyyr, Inc., a $40M video storage manufacturer based in California. Peter was previously Vice President of International Operations with the Mosler Corporation, a global security firm serving financial institutions and central banks around the world.
Peter was named to the list of “Top 50 most influential people in Security Industry in 2015” by the IFSEC organization and was the recipient of the CEO of the Year Award in 2005 from the Ottawa Business Journal as well as the Next Generation Executive of the Year by the Invest Ottawa Group.
Peter is a frequent contributor to several industry publications and has appeared as a guest on business shows such as Business News Network (BNN) and MSNBC Squakbox.
Peter enjoys working with start ups and currently serves as a strategic advisor to Graphite Software, an android-based mobile device security software start up, and Squanto, an artificial intelligence start up focused on detecting internal fraud in financial institutions. Peter is a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Governance (ICD) from Rotman School of Management and has served on the advisory board of the Ottawa ICD Chapter. A native of Sweden, Peter speaks Swedish, English and French, and holds a B.A. from McGill University and an MBA in International Business from Concordia University (Montreal).
