In her role as Academic Manager, Pat is responsible for developing innovative part- and full-time online Business programs and related services that support the success of students. Pat’s curiosity with the power of distance learning began as a college teacher when she saw how technology enabled students to demonstrate their knowledge, anytime and anywhere. Recognizing the potential to engage students in society, politics, and government participation, Pat began her research on how technology could be used as a tool to support digital citizenship.

The Promise of Digital Citizenship: Digital citizenship and its focus on improving the ways we safely, responsibly, and ethically use technology as it relates to business and today’s economy is fast becoming a valuable lifelong skill. As part of our discussion the panel presentation will introduce the role of digital citizenship in online environments. Together we will explore how we, as digital citizens, can utilize technology as a force to create positive change within both society and ourselves.
