Mike Gawargy is an accomplished leader with over twenty years of experience in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Application Development, Services and Support. Mike joined Algonquin College in 2013 to lead the Information Technology Services unit, a talented team of IT professionals that run the College’s IT Infrastructure, Networks, and Applications. He has previously held leadership positions within the private sector, having oversight of multi-disciplinary teams across Canada, US, Europe and Asia. Mike is married to a talented architect and the proud father of two wonderful children. He takes an active interest in his children’s activities, and is an active member of Saint Mary’s Coptic Orthodox Christian Church in Ottawa. Mike holds a B.Eng. (Honours) degree from McGill University in Communication Systems Engineering, and an M.A.Sc. degree from Carleton University in Systems and Computer Engineering. Mike is the holder of European and US patents; and the recipient of multiple corporate awards including the President’s Award of Excellence in Leadership and Quality at Genband, and the Nortel Networks Award of Excellence for Innovation. As an accomplished leader with a proven track record, Mike consistently delivers superior results, builds trust, and fosters innovation.
