Why attend?
There are so many good reasons. Cyber risks keep significantly escalating year over year, for both individuals and organizations. You need to protect yourself and your organization from identity theft, data privacy loss, permanent digital tattoos, security breaches and dark side actors. Come and learn the very latest threats, risks and safeguards from global leaders in this area.
Cyber Security Days is an annual event put on by the Ottawa community for the Ottawa community, held at Algonquin College Woodroffe campus. We bring everyone together for learning moments and interesting dialogue on a wide variety of related topics. Meant to be a diverse conference, there are so many different and interesting things to participate in, from the presentations and panels, to the technical demonstrations, hacking village, trade show, job fair, Cyber Security and Privacy Dinner, and networking opportunities.
Best of all, it is a ‘no charge’ event, with the costs covered by Algonquin College, supported by its many sponsors and partners. Where else these days can you get a free conference pass, free lunches and refreshment breaks and opportunities to win cool technology prizes?
Who should attend?
In short, everyone that has an interest in Cyber Security and Privacy. That includes members from industry, government, military, educators, students, and parents of students interested in a career in cyber security and privacy. The community inclusiveness is what makes this conference really unique.

What are the opportunities for students?
Attend!
Attend Day 1 and Day 2 to learn more about cyber security and data privacy from the “who’s who” in Canada and the US. Peruse the Trade Fair and Job Fair sponsors to see world class leading cyber security solutions.
Hack!
Participate in our Hacking Village to see how penetration testing and ethical hacking is actually carried out.
Volunteer!
We need numerous student “ambassadors” to help “on the ground” throughout the day… check with your program to see if your participation as a volunteer qualifies for co-curricular hours. This event is approved for co-curricular hour credit.
Meet Potential Employers!
Visit the Trade Show and meet representatives of leading cybersecurity businesses that are actively recruiting during the event. Bring your résumé, pick up some swag and make some key contacts.
Get Twinned for a Day!
Participating cyber security firms are participating in our second annual “Student Twinning” program. If you have a career interest in cyber security, we can possibly twin you with a local company. On a pre-arranged date, the company will bring you in to their businesses for one full day to give you a behind-the-scenes look at what they do and how they do it! If you are interested in a potential match-up, contact Patrick Ouellette at ouellep@algonquincollege.com
Be Eligible to Win Cool Give-Aways!
