Stream 1 - Supply Chain Innovation: Reaching beyond company borders for change
Conflict minerals, end-of-life product disposal, factory labour practices, and carbon emissions in the supply chain: supply chain issues are in the news today and businesses face many risks and opportunities.
Given the complexities of global and local operations, how can companies reach out beyond their own walls to collaborate along their supply chain to improve social and environmental performance while ensuring successful delivery of their product? How can business work with stakeholders, competitors, and direct and second tier suppliers, to influence change within and outside their business?

We will look at the processes by which companies are building capacity within their multi-layered supply chains, collaborative initiatives that are bringing industry together for joint action, and social/environmental purchasing. Our discussions will be grounded within the framework and process of advancing and embedding CSR and sustainability in the firm.
