Innovative Models: Collaboration along the Supply Chain
Within and across sectors, and with multiple stakeholders, companies are increasingly working together to create joint strategies to promote the adoption of sustainable practices among suppliers and partners. Where CSR was once viewed to be the individual responsibility of each company within the supply chain, globalization, increasingly integrated supply chains, as well as an increasing recognition of the shared responsibility for sustainable development have all lead to a rapid growth in the development of supply chain partnerships as a core part of CSR strategies. What makes a successful supply chain collaboration? How do they develop? What barriers stand in the way of success? In this session we will discuss the drivers behind supply chain collaboration as well as the conditions and best practices needed for a successful partnership. The session will profile real-life examples from Canadian businesses that are breaking new ground in this area.
