Rob Drynan
President – MacLaren kiindrid
Rob brings a new way of thinking and 18 years of experience to his role leading kiindird, a new division at MacLaren McCann focused on helping the for-profit and not-for-profit worlds work together for their mutual benefit.
In this role, Rob is working with MacLaren McCann’s existing clients to help promote their various foundations and corporate causes, as well as bringing forward new business opportunities. Some current clients include The YMCA GTA, The Art Gallery of Ontario, Hewlett Packard, Camp Oochigeas and The Governor General’s Performing Arts Awards,
Before joining MacLaren McCann, Rob was executive director of Camp Oochigeas – a camp for kids with cancer. Under Rob’s leadership, Camp Oochigeas grew from a six week summer camp to deliver year-round programs at its facility in Muskoka, at The Hospital for Sick Children, and its newly opened programming facility in downtown Toronto. The impact of this growth has earned Camp Oochigeas numerous accolades over the years, including five Canadian Marketing Association (CMA) awards, three awards from the Association of Fundraising Professionals including a local and an international award of excellence, and the New Fundraising Professional Award. In addition, Rob received two finalist nominations for the Ernst and Young Social Entrepreneur of the Year. In 2009, Rob was named as one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40.
An entrepreneur at heart, Rob started his career launching a marketing consulting and fulfillment business on the West Coast serving Whistler and Victoria, prior to moving back to his hometown of Toronto and working as an Account Executive at Cossette Communications Group.
Rob studied Psychology at Carleton University before heading to the mountains.
In his spare time, Rob is active member of The Greater Toronto CivicAction Alliance, participating as a member of the CivicAction Steering Committee, and in the Emerging Leaders Network, as co-chair of the 2010 ELNStudio and project lead on sustainable revenue. Rob is also Chair of the Board of Directors of Planned Parenthood Toronto, and a member of the AGO Massive Party event committee.
Rob is an avid skier and cyclist, and an active fundraiser for the charities he supports. He lives with his Wife and two children in downtown Toronto
