James Temple

James Temple is the Director of Corporate Responsibility for PwC Canada and has a dual role leading the PricewaterhouseCoopers Canada Foundation. In this capacity, James  provides oversight to the Canadian Firm’s internal Corporate Responsibility program, representing the ways PwC integrates good social, environmental and economic values into its business operations.

An experienced professional in not-for-profit management and strategic philanthropy, James has held related roles at the Royal Bank of Canada’s Charitable Foundation, Centrica (Direct Energy North America) and agencies within the not-for-profit sector including the Nature Conservancy of Canada and the March of Dimes.

He has been a presenter at the World Volunteer Forum, International Corporate Citizenship Conference, Canadian Business and Community Partnership Forum and was one of this year’s judges for Strategy Magazine’s Cause + Action Awards. In 2011, Social Earth blog named @CSRJames one of Twitter’s Top 45 CSR contributors.

James serves as Co-Chair of the Association of Corporate Grantmakers, is a member of the Board of Advisors for the Institute at Havergal College and serves on Advisory Councils for the YMCA of Greater Toronto and the Ontario Association of Food Banks. He holds a degree in Geographic Analysis from Ryerson University and a Certificate in Advertising and Media from the Canadian Marketing Association.
