Students gain experience on-site and in a clinical setting. Through theoretical courses, simulation, laboratory practice and extensive clinical experiences, students acquire the ability to produce quality images of internal structures, such as abdominal and pelvic organs, superficial structures, fetal imaging, carotid arteries and lower extremity venous imaging of the human body. Students apply principles of health and safety, as well as quality assurance for safe and proper use of ultrasound in the clinical setting and develop critical-thinking and problem-solving skills to adapt theoretical knowledge to clinical practice. Students work within an inter-professional healthcare team to deliver safe patient assessment, diagnostic and therapeutic skills consistent with best practice standards for diagnostic medical ultrasound.

This program is accredited by the Accreditation Canada EQual, and graduates from accredited programs are eligible to write the national certification through Sonography Canada.

Success Stories and Testimonials

“I wanted to reach out and let you know that we hired Leena and Maybelle from your most recent graduating class.
We couldn’t be happier with them! They are grade A sonographers and even better people. If you ever have students as hardworking and skilled as the two of them (and have interest in living in the greater Toronto area), let me know!”
