What does a Cardiology Technologist do?
A Cardiology Technologist performs ECG, stress tests, Holter monitoring testing and works with patients in an interprofessional health care team.

Is this program accredited?
The program is accredited with Accreditation Canada under the EQual Program.

How does the schedule work for this program?
Levels 1 – 5 are consecutive semesters. Clinical Placements will occur during Level 3 and Level 5.

How is this program delivered?
The program is delivered in-person, on campus at Algonquin College. Currently there is no option for remote learning. All hands-on activities are practiced on-site in our designated Cardiovascular Lab.

Can you take this program part-time?
Currently, the program is only delivered on a full-time basis.

Where do the clinical placements take place?
The clinicals take place in hospitals and cardiac clinics across Ontario. Availability to other provinces may also be arranged.

What is the starting salary in this field?
Entry level salary is $40,000, and varies between temporary and full time work. Average hourly rate is $30/hour.
