Todd Gardiner Award Application
Established in loving memory of Todd Gardiner, who passed away in 2017. Todd was an amazing man! He had such a creative mind that whatever he did inspired others. He applied to Algonquin College for the scriptwriting program because he wanted to write comedies to bring happiness to everyone. He had a sense of humor no-one could match. When you were around Todd you couldn’t help laughing.
People were drawn to Todd and when you met him you knew that you would not forget him. Todd brought people together with his sense of humor and creative mind. He brought his family and his school friends along with his hockey and college friends together. They have all remained friends to this day because of Todd. Always thinking of others Todd made sure others were looked after first. Todd lived life to the fullest even though it was a short one.
The Todd Gardiner Award is given to one (1) student ($1,000) enrolled in the final semester of the Scriptwriting program with a minimum GPA of 3.0, who demonstrates a love of comedy and goes out of their way to make people laugh and bring them happiness. Preference given to male students.
To be considered for the Award, students who qualify must submit a 250-word essay, on how they demonstrate their love of comedy, and goes out of their way to make people laugh and bring them happiness.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must be registered full-time
- Applicants must have a minimum of 3.0 grade point average
- Applicants must be Canadian citizens
- Applicants must be enrolled in their final semester of the Scriptwriting program offered at the Ottawa Campus
Instructions:
- Applicants must add their Social Insurance Number via their ACSIS account in order to be awarded funding.
- Applicants will be required to submit an 250-word essay
- All applicants will be notified of a decision by email after the deadline
