The Association of Ontario Land Surveyors Educational Foundation Award
This award was created by The Association of Ontario Land Surveyors Educational Foundation to help raise awareness about the opportunities for employment in the surveying field. There is currently a shortage of Ontario Land Surveyors and also a great demand for technical staff for the AOLS firms.
The Association of Ontario Land Surveyors Educational Foundation Award is given to two (2) students ($1,250 each) enrolled in level 5 of the Civil Engineering Technology program with a minimum GPA of 3.0; have excelled in SURV8411 Construction Surveying I and SURV8412 Construction Surveying II, and demonstrate interest in pursuing a career in land surveying.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must be registered full-time
- Applicants must have a minimum of 3.0 grade point average
- Both Domestic and International (Canadian citizen, a Permanent Resident, or a Protected Person/Convention Refugee) students are encouraged to apply
- Applicants must be enrolled in level 5 of the Civil Engineering Technology program offered at the Ottawa Campus
- Applicants must have excelled in SURV8411 Construction Surveying I and SURV8412 Construction Surveying II
Instructions:
- Applicants must add their Social Insurance Number via their ACSIS account in order to be awarded funding. Exceptions may apply for International students
- Applicants will be required to submit a 200-word essay
- Applicants may provide a Letter of Support from instructor/employer/co-op that demonstrates their interest in pursuing a career in land surveying (optional)
- All applicants will be notified of a decision by email after the deadline
