Scholarships

Most scholarships have no application process. The selection is completed by Financial Aid and Student Awards in recognition of academic excellence.

Awards

Some awards have an application process. For those with an application, details on the application and submission deadline can be found in the Award description. The selection is completed by the Academic Departments in recognition of academic excellence and extracurricular activities, such as volunteerism and leadership.

Bachelor of Public Safety Program Advisory Committee Award of Excellence

Awarded to a student in their final semester of the Bachelor of Public Safety (Honours) program with a minimum GPA of 3.0, and who has exhibited academic excellence in theoretical and applied knowledge, and commitment to all facets of the program.

CJS Program Advisory Committee Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement

Awarded to a graduating student in the Community and Justice Service Program in recognition of outstanding academic achievement and exemplary college and community involvement.

CJS Program Advisory Committee Award for Shanley’s Most Progress Achieved

Awarded to a graduating student in the Community and Justice Service Program in recognition of personal, professional and academic growth, and field placement achievement.

Christina Voelzing Memorial Award

Awarded to full-time students enrolled in the Victimology program who demonstrate the enthusiastic charm, passion, and incredible generosity that Christina Voelzing displayed every day of her life. This person should be honest, brave, and full of life – someone whose presence energized those surrounding them. Someone whose tremendous heart and dedication motivated themselves and others to make the world a better place. The recipient must personify the Victimology program’s will and drive to help victims in our community.

Emond Publishing Police Foundations Scholarship

Awarded to students enrolled in the Police Foundations program with a high GPA.

Jim Whittle Life Balance Award

Awarded to graduates of the Paramedic program who demonstrate hard work and also enjoy outside adventurous activities.

The Kenneth Lynch Award for Paramedics

Awarded to a student enrolled in 2nd year of the Paramedic program who demonstrates commitment to the profession and attention to excellence in patient care. Ken was a disabled, former Algonquin student who had great respect for the paramedic profession.

Mcnab Braeside Firefighters Association Award

Awarded to students enrolled in the Pre-Service Firefighter program who have demonstrated exemplary community involvement through volunteering and dedication.

MD Charlton Company Award

Awarded to second-year students enrolled in the Police Foundations program, who exemplifies leadership and community involvement.

Ottawa Fire Service Award of Excellence (Non-Monetary)

Awarded to graduates of the Pre-Service Firefighter program who have exhibited academic excellence in theoretical practices and have applied knowledge, and commitment to all facets of the program.

Ottawa Paramedic Service Award

Awarded to graduates of the Paramedic program in recognition of academic and clinical achievement, interpersonal and professional attributes.

Ottawa Police Service Award of Excellence

Awarded to graduates of the Police Foundations program who have demonstrated high academic achievement, contribution to the community, and participation in college extracurricular activities.

Paramedic Professionalism Award

Awarded to full-time students enrolled in the Paramedic program in recognition of commitment and dedication to the Paramedic profession.

Paramedic Scholarship of Excellence

Awarded to full-time students who have completed Level 02 of the Paramedic program with the highest GPA.

RCMP Award of Excellence (Non-Monetary)

Awarded annually to graduates of the Police Foundations program who have demonstrated outstanding communications and interpersonal skills, including active listening skills, respect for diversity, group and community leadership and, volunteerism.

Ruth Campbell Victimology Award for Leadership

Awarded to graduates of any Police and Public Safety Institute program who are forward thinking, skilled at making connections, consider different perspectives, and live with curiosity.

The Police Foundations Faculty Award

Awarded to graduates of the Police Foundations program who have shown strong academic performance and have demonstrated excellent leadership qualities while in the program.
