Schulich Builders scholarships are awarded to students enrolling in full-time certificate and diploma programs within eligible skilled trade fields at participating Ontario colleges. Colleges offer the scholarships in programs with the most in-demand jobs in the skilled trade sector in Ontario. The program will award 100 scholarships annually with 10 scholarships available at each participating college. Scholarships are valued at up to $40,000 ($20,000 per academic year), supporting the costs of tuition, living expenses and tools. Schulich Builders will benefit from internal resources at the college to enhance their student experience and assist in their employment within their relevant field in the skilled trades upon graduation. Schulich Builders scholarships aims to recognize and enable Ontario’s future skilled trade workers, with an annual investment of over $3 million through top Ontario colleges.

The guard.me Study Work Abroad Award will be awarded to a full-time or part-time Algonquin College student (Canadian or Permanent Resident) who is taking part in an international education experience outside of Canada and the United States.

Awards are presented at Award Ceremonies or at Convocation. Award winners are selected within Departments and Schools. Information is available from your Program Coordinator, Chair or School Dean. A graduating student may apply for a Cross College Award(s), or may be nominated by a fellow student, faculty member, or others in the College community. There are four Cross College Awards for which a student may apply or be nominated; International House Award, President Rosser Award, Steve Stafford Memorial Continuing Education Award and the Robert C. Gillett Leadership Award.
Alexander Asmis Leadership Award
Awarded to an Algonquin College soccer athlete who demonstrates leadership on the field and sets an example for others to follow by pushing them to be better. Recipient should also demonstrate: love of the game, sportsmanship, care and work ethic, compassion for teammates, help to develop other players and build morale within teammates.
Ed Ireland Athletic Bursary
To be awarded to a full-time student representing Algonquin College on a OCAA Team upon completion of 1st semester who can demonstrate financial need.*
Student Athletic Award
The Athletic Award program is designed to encourage and reward athletes who demonstrate academic competence, athletic ability, and financial need. Incoming and returning students, who participate in sports leading to National Championships, are eligible for these awards:
- Must be a full-time, activity-fee paying student.
- Must be a member in good standing of a varsity team which competes within the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association.
- Must successfully complete a full course load (a minimum of five courses) with no failures and a semester GPA of 2.50.

Award of Excellence
Awarded to a Support Staff or Administrator of Algonquin College on an annual basis for providing advice, guidance and support to the benefit of students and the Students’ Association.
Faculty Recognition – Excellence in Teaching Award
Awarded to four faculty members, annually, by students for exceptional teaching and having a tremendous effect on their students during their stay at Algonquin College.
Faculty Recognition Certificates
Awarded to faculty who were nominated for providing exceptional teaching and having a positive effect on their students during their stay at Algonquin College.
Terry Kohls Memorial Award
In recognition of the late Terry Kohls’ contribution to the students of Algonquin College, this award is presented to a mature student who has demonstrated a substantial contribution to the welfare of fellow students and the College community (Pembroke Campus).
THE WYBOURN AWARD
The Wybourn Award is awarded on an annual basis to a Student Leader who has made an outstanding contribution to the promotion and/or upholding of student rights at Algonquin College during the academic year.
CLASS REPRESENTATIVE AWARDS
The Class Representative Award is awarded on an annual basis and is designed to acknowledge and reward a student who is deemed to be the most deserving Class Representative. An award is selected for each of the three Algonquin College campuses (Ottawa, Perth and Pembroke).

We Saved You a Seat is a three-year pilot project at Algonquin College to establish a diverse learning environment where all our learners can succeed.
