The ALGONQUIN COLLEGE BURSARIES which are specifically for programs in the Algonquin Centre for Construction Excellence are listed on this page.

Funds for bursaries marked with an asterisk are matched through the Ontario Trust for Student Support (OTSS). To be eligible, you must be a Canadian Citizen and have been a resident of Ontario for at least 12 consecutive months, and must not have attended full-time post-secondary studies in the year prior to submitting your bursary application.

Fall

Adamson Associates Architects Bursary

Adamson Architects Associates has established the Adamson Architects Bursary to support Indigenous Students enrolled in either the Architect Technician or the Architect Technology Program offered through the Algonquin Centre for Construction Excellence.

Algonquin Centre for Construction Excellence (ACCE) Bursary*

Awarded to students enrolled in any Algonquin Centre for Construction Excellence program who can demonstrate financial need.

BECOR (Building Envelope Council Ottawa Region) Bursary*

Awarded to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science (Building Science) program during third year who can demonstrate financial need.

Braycor D.R. Dick Billings/Jerry Valiquette Bursary*

Awarded to students enrolled in the Civil Engineering Technology program during Level 03 who can demonstrate financial need.

Burwash Family Bursary*

Awarded to first-year full-time female students enrolled in the Welding and Fabrication Techniques (Co-op), Building Construction Technician, Powerline Technician or Electrical Engineering Technician program who can demonstrate financial need.

The Cooper Equipment Rentals Bursary

This Bursary is given to one female student with demonstrated financial need who is enrolled in the Motive Power Technician – Diesel Equipment and Truck program. The Bursary is open to female students in any year and any campus where the program is offered. The Bursary is open to Canadian citizens, landed immigrants, permanent residents, protected persons, or international students. The Bursary is disbursed in the Fall, Winter, or Spring Term.

Dwight Brown Bursary

Awarded annually by Financial Aid and Students Awards Office in accordance with College policy on the administration of bursaries to a student(s) in demonstrated financial need who is continuing in the Construction Engineering technician, Building Construction Technician, or subsequent evolutions of these programs in the Algonquin Centre for Construction Excellence school.

Ed Ireland Civil Engineering Bursary*

Awarded to (2) students enrolled in the Construction Engineering Technician program (one student who completed Level 02 and one student who completed Level 04) and one student enrolled in Level 05 of the Civil Engineering Technology program who can demonstrate financial need. Special consideration will be given to female students.

Fendor Glass and Aluminum Inc (Westwell Family) Bursary

Awarded to students enrolled in the Civil Engineering Technology program who can demonstrate financial need. 

Herbert S. Ransom Memorial Bursary*

Awarded to students enrolled in the Horticulture Industries program who can demonstrate financial need. 

K.G. Shoultz Electrical Engineering Technician Bursary

Awarded to full-time/part-time students enrolled in the Electrical Engineering Technology program. Recipients should be mature students, have dependents, and can demonstrate financial need.

Kott Group Bursary*

Awarded to (2) students enrolled in Level 03 of the Architectural Technology program, (2) students enrolled in Level 03 of the Construction Engineering Technician program, and one student enrolled in Level 01 of the Cabinetmaking and Furniture Technician program who can demonstrate financial need.

National Capital Heavy Construction Association – Sewer and Watermain Bursary

Awarded to students enrolled in the Civil Engineering Technology program during Level 03 who can demonstrate financial need.

Newman Horticulture Bursary

Awarded to students enrolled in the Horticulture Industries program who can demonstrate financial need. 

O.A.C.E.T.T. Bursary

Awarded to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Information Technology – Photonics and Laser Technology, Biotechnology Advanced, Environmental Management and Assessment, Water and Waste Water Technician, Computer Engineering Technology- Computing Science, Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technician- Robotics, Manufacturing Engineering Technician, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Technician, Electrical Engineering Technician or Electrical Engineering Technology program (recognized by O.A.C.E.T.T.) who can demonstrate financial need.

Ottawa Construction Association Bursary

Awarded to students enrolled in the Civil Engineering Technology program during Level 03 who can demonstrate financial need.

PCL Constructors Canada Inc. Bursary

Awarded to students enrolled in the Civil Engineering Technology program and Green Architecture program during Level 03 who can demonstrate financial need.

Princess Auto Bursary

Awarded to (2) Level 01 students enrolled in each of the following programs: Welding and Fabrication Techniques, Aircraft Maintenance Technician, Motive Power Technician, Motive Power Technician – Diesel Equipment and Truck, and Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician program who can demonstrate financial need.

Tamarack Homes Bursary

Awarded to (2) students enrolled in Level 03 and (2) students enrolled in Level 05 of the Architectural Technology program who can demonstrate financial need. 

Terry McCann Memorial Bursary

The Terry McCann Memorial Bursary was established to honour Terry McCann, who passed away in April 2022 at the age of 93. Terry was a retired high school guidance counsellor, former shop teacher, and go-to handyman who funded his post-secondary education by working as a welder and construction labourer.

The Bursary has been established to provide 1 bursary of $4,000 for a student in their second, third or fourth year of study in any Construction and Skilled Trades program at any campus with demonstrated financial need.

Westeinde Construction / Griffiths Rankin Cook Architects Design-Build Bursary

Awarded to students enrolled in the Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering Technology program who completed Level 04 and can demonstrate financial need.

William Phee Bursary

Awarded to students enrolled in the Cabinetmaking and Furniture Technician program during 1st semester who can demonstrate financial need.

Winter

Giant Tiger Bursary

The Giant Tiger Bursary is for first-year female students enrolled in any program offered in the School of Advanced Technology or the Algonquin Centre of Construction Excellence.

Hydro One Bursary

Awarded to students enrolled in the Electrical Engineering Technician and Electrical Engineering Technology programs who can demonstrate financial need. Special consideration will be given to females and indigenous students.

Khadija Haffajee Syrian Refugee Bursary

Awarded to Syrian refugee students enrolled in one of the following programs: Baking and Pastry Arts, Baking and Pastry Arts Management, Culinary Management, Electrician (Construction and Maintenance) or Mechanical Techniques- Plumbing program who can demonstrate financial need. 

Kott Group Bursary

Awarded to (2) students enrolled in Level 03 of the Architectural Technology program, (2) students enrolled in Level 03 of the Construction Engineering Technician program, and one student enrolled in Level 01 of the Cabinetmaking and Furniture Technician program who can demonstrate financial need.

Terry McCann Memorial Bursary

Kemptville Horticultural Society Bursary

Awarded to students enrolled in the Horticulture Industries program who can demonstrate financial need. The Bursary is for a student from North Grenville or the surrounding areas. Preference is for a student from North Grenville. The Kemptville Horticultural Society is known for “keeping Kemptville beautiful”.

Shane Jonas Memorial Bursary

Awarded to students enrolled in Level 03 of the Building Construction Technician program who can demonstrate financial need.
