William Bernard Memorial Award
This award has been established in honour of William and his passion for flying to help future pilots make their dreams come true. Throughout William’s young life, he would be the first to support anyone in need, in anyway he could.
The William Bernard Memorial Award is given to a student in their second year of the Aviation Management program with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and who has encountered personal challenges; in spite of these, the recipient continues to persevere and maintain a satisfactory academic standing in their program. The recipient must be actively enrolled in Flight Training III, or Flight Training IV course, and completing their flight time with one of Algonquin College’s approved flying partner, including but not limited to Ottawa Flying Club, Rockcliffe Flying Club, Cornwall Aviation and the Canadian Aviation and Space Museum.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must be registered full-time
- Applicants must have a minimum of 3.0 grade point average
- Both Domestic and International (Canadian citizen, a Permanent Resident, or a Protected Person/Convention Refugee) students are encouraged to apply
- Applicants must be enrolled in their second year of the Aviation Management program offered at the Ottawa Campus
- Applicants must be completing their flight time with one of Algonquin College’s approved flying partner, including but not limited to Ottawa Flying Club, Rockcliffe Flying Club, Cornwall Aviation and the Canadian Aviation and Space Museum.
Instructions:
- Applicants must add their Social Insurance Number via their ACSIS account in order to be awarded funding. Exceptions may apply for International students
- Applicants will be required to submit a 250-word essay
- All applicants will be notified of a decision by email after the deadline
FALL 2024 APPLICATION DEADLINE: October 15th, 2024 @11:59p.m.
