Ontario’s Better Job Ontario Strategy
As part of its Economic Action Plan, the Government of Ontario created the Better Jobs Ontario Strategy to help Ontario workers transition into high-demand occupations in their local labour market. The Second Career program provides up to $28,000 to recently laid-off, unemployed or underemployed (less than 20 hours a week) workers who are interested in college programs that don’t exceed 52 weeks in length.
The Intake & Referral Consultants at the Experienced Worker Centre can talk to you about what is in demand today and support you as you consider your options and move through the application process. While programs funded under Second Career can’t exceed 52 weeks in length, Algonquin offers a wide range of programs for those considering a Second Career.
