Inclusion & Diversity Champion Award

This award is presented annually to an Algonquin College employee in recognition of excellence and action in demonstrating the value of equity and diversity in our College community.

Eligibility

Candidates must be currently employed with Algonquin College under any employment method e.g. full-time, part-time, contract, support staff, academic or administrative.

Selection Criteria

  1. An employee who has made Algonquin College a more equitable, diverse, inclusive, and respectful institution.
  2. Built and/or promoted a set of practices and behaviours within the workplace, team or among individuals that enables employees to understand, communicate, and effectively interact with people across differences, real or perceived.
  3. Created a sense of belonging where colleagues and/or students are recognized and valued for their uniqueness; and promoted Algonquin College as a place where individuals can be their authentic selves.

The submission should include specific examples that describe how the nominee consistently meets the selection criteria in a way that is exemplary and/or above and beyond the call of duty.
