Dianne Bloor Part-time Faculty Award

The Dianne Bloor Part-time Faculty Award is named in honour of Dianne Bloor, long time faculty member and champion of faculty learning and development at Algonquin College from 1964 to 2008.

This award is presented annually to an Algonquin College Part-time Faculty in recognition of teaching excellence.

Eligibility

Candidates must be part-time employees of the College who have taught for at least two complete consecutive semesters prior to the nomination.

Selection Criteria

Nominees will have demonstrated outstanding performance in the following areas:

  1. Commitment to teaching:
    • excite students to learn and achieve through the use of a variety of teaching methodologies
  2. Commitment to the community:
    • serve as a role model and mentor to their colleagues
    • participate in college and community activities

The submission should include specific examples that describe how the nominee consistently meets the selection criteria in a way that is exemplary and/or above and beyond the call of duty.
