The following online tools are free (unless stated otherwise) and provide information, resources, and supportthat you can access anytime, anywhere, to help improve your mental health and general well-being.
Anxiety
Anxiety Canada: Anxiety Canada provides information and tools, such as their free MindShift app (iOS/Android), to help youth and young adults manage anxiety using step-by-step strategies.
BounceBack: This free skill-building program is designed to help manage symptoms of mild to moderate depression and anxiety. You will learn skills to help combat unhelpful thinking, manage worry and anxiety, and become more active and assertive.
Depression and Bi-Polar Disorder and Low Mood
DBSA: The Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance can help you connect with others who have been there. They provide personal wellness options (medication information, wellness trackers, etc.), as well as information on how to help others who are suffering.
Mood Kit: This iOS app was developed by two clinical psychologists to help you apply effective strategies of professional psychology to your everyday life. They also developed the Moodnotes app to track your mood over time, avoid common thinking traps, and more.
Mood Mission: This iOS/Android app is used to track your mood. When you tell MoodMission how you’re feeling, it gives you a tailored list of 5 simple, effective, evidence-based Missions to improve your mood.
Increasing Happiness
Happify: Happify provides science-based happiness games and activities through their web-based tool and iOS/Android app. Happify brings you effective tools and programs to help you take control of your feelings and thoughts.
Sleep Hygiene
Sleepwell: Developed by Dalhousie University, Sleepwell can help you learn more about and find support for insomnia, CBT-i therapy, sleeping pills, and more.
CBT-i Coach: This iOS/Android app is for people who are engaged in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia with a health provider, or who have experienced symptoms of insomnia and would like to improve their sleep habits.
Mindfulness and Meditation
Buddhify: This iOS/Android app provides categorized meditations based on what you’re doing or how you’re feeling, such as walking, stress, difficult emotions, work break, going to sleep, or waking up.
Calm: Beginners and experienced meditators can use this web-based tool and iOS/Android app to access daily meditations for reducing stress and anxiety, better sleep, managing emotions, and more.
Headspace: Offering simple daily meditations, this web-based tool and iOS/Android app is designed for beginners who would like to incorporate meditation into their daily lives.
Mindfulness Daily: This iOS/Android app provides guided meditations, push notifications to remind you to pause for mindful breaths, and daily sessions to refine and tune your personal path to peace.
Stress Management
Togetherall: This online mental health and wellbeing service offers self-help programmes, creative outlets, and a community that cares. When you’re dealing with everyday stressors or major life events, we’ll help you get through it.
Calm in the Storm: This iOS app provides stress management through meditation, tracking mood, personalized photos and phrases, and providing information about stress.
Sanvello: A web-based tool and iOS/Android app providing daily tools for managing stress, including guided self-help paths, mood tracking, goal tracking, and a peer support community.
Stress Management: This unit from Algonquin College Library can help you learn to manage your stress.
Trauma and PTSD
PTSD Coach: This iOS/Android app can help you learn about and manage symptoms that often occur after trauma.

Substance Use
SMART Recovery: SMART Recovery provides evidence-based program materials, an online community of meetings, and in-person support groups for people seeking independence from any kind of substance use disorders and problematic behaviours. They offer a positive reinforcement educational program for family members and friends who wish to support their loved ones in their recovery.
