Co-op Work Permit Confirmation Form
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) requires most international students enrolled in a co-op program to hold a valid co-op work permit before beginning a co-op work term. A co-op work permit legally allows you to work in a co-op position in Canada. A co-op work permit is not your study permit. A co-op work permit is a separate paper document that you will need to legally work as a co-op student during your co-op work terms. International students at Algonquin College cannot begin the hiring process with an employer or start work that is required by their program until they have their co-op/internship work permit “in-hand”.
