Hiring Students with Disabilities
According to the research conducted by the David C Onley Initiative, there are 10,000 students with disabilities enrolled at post secondary institutions across the National Capital Region including Algonquin College.
The Ontario Human Rights Code and the Canadian Human Rights Act both legislate that employers cannot discriminate against persons with a disability and requires employers to provide reasonable accommodations for any person who has disclosed a disability.
