Co-op Accommodation Guidelines
Accommodation Guidelines
The College recognizes that students may face exceptional circumstances during the semester which can prevent them from participating in the co-op program, as planned. In those circumstances, students can request an accommodation. Students are expected to make every effort to meet co-op requirements and must notify the Co-op Office in writing as soon as possible, should extenuating circumstances arise.
Accommodations will be considered for readmittance to the co-op program, changes to the co-op work/study pattern, and requests for time off during a co-op work term in the following situations:
- Suffer from medical, emergency, or other circumstances outside of their control such as illness, accident, or injury
- Have legal obligations such as jury duty or court appearances;
- Face significant personal circumstances such as family bereavement or family crisis;
- Are registered with the Centre for Accessible Learning (CAL) and have a Letter of Accommodations (LOA), which provides a written statement of academic accommodation.
Documentation to support the request may be required.
Security screening delays and work term cancellations are not considered exceptional circumstances.
