AC Co-op raised over $1,500 for Children’s Cancer support at 2019 Nokia Inside Ride

The Algonquin College Cooperative Education Team saddled up for their fourth year participating in the Nokia Inside Ride in support of Candelighters. The event raised over $186,000 for this local, not-for-profit organization that provides programs and services to young cancer patients, and their families, receiving treatment in the National Capital Region.

Spirits were high and music echoed through the lot of Nokia’s Kanata location on Thursday May 9th. Alongside hundreds of other 2019 Nokia Inside Ride participants, AC Co-op was proud to cycle for a great cause with Nokia, one of our long-time co-op supporters. Thanks to the AC staff and community’s generous donations, the Co-op Team was honoured to contribute over $1,500 to the overall event donation raised.

2018 saw The Inside Ride distribute over $3 million to cancer research and programs in every province Canada. Their 2021 goal is to be established as a national leader in fundraising and childhood cancer program funding all across Canada. They aim to raise over $10 million and to support childhood cancer programs in every region in Canada by 2021. Want to learn more about The Inside Ride, and how you can get involved?
