The Super Easy Way to Forward Your Student Emails Account to Your Regular Email

With school starting up, you’ll be getting busy again soon. It can be hard to keep up with all the information coming at you, from your program’s Facebook group to Blackboard to random asides in class. But one thing to always keep in mind—especially as a co-op student at Algonquin—is that checking your school email is really, really important.
Here in the co-op office, we use your student email address as our primary mode of communication. That means that resume reviews, interview requests, and—vitally—job offers will often come through your student email. And you don’t want to miss out on any of that.
But, because you’re busy, remembering to check your student email can be hard. The answer? Forward your student email to your regular email account, and make sure you get notifications of new emails on your phone.
Here are the 3 easy steps to make it happen.
Step One: Open Your Email
Head to https://outlook.office.com and log in with in your Algonquin credentials. This brings up your student inbox, so take a second and make sure you haven’t missed anything important.
Step Two: Find the ‘Forwarding’ Option
At the top right of your inbox, you’ll find a little gear icon. Click on it, and it brings up your options panel. In the search bar, type ‘forwarding’ and click on the option when it shows up.
Step Three: Enter the Email You Want to Forward To
Now, type in your normal email address. Click save, and that’s it! Now you can be sure that you’re getting all the emails from your student account, and you won’t miss out on anything important.
Be sure to check your email at least once a day, or set up notifications on your phone. It’s really important to keep up with communications from the college. Professors, financial services, the co-op office—everyone uses this address to communicate with you. Besides, you don’t want to miss out on your dream placement because you missed the email!
