Co-op Department Surpasses Fundraising Goal for The Nokia Inside Ride

On May 10, the Co-op Department joined over 80 organizations at The Nokia Inside Ride event and surpassed their fundraising goal to raise $2,250 for the Candlelighters Ottawa. Candlelighters is a local, not-for-profit volunteer organization that provides programs and services to young cancer patients, and their families, receiving treatment in the National Capital Region.

Joining together for a day of fun, the team showed their support by participating in a six-round cycling competition with their colleagues across Ottawa.

Nokia is a great supporter of the co-op program at Algonquin College and hires many students each year. To show their appreciation, the Co-op team was proud to join Nokia in their commitment to make a difference in the lives of kids and families living with childhood cancer.

“We are so proud to be part of this great cause each year and to show our support The Nokia Inside Ride and the Candleighters Ottawa,” says Matt Wheatley, Stakeholder Relations Lead, Cooperative Education. “For the past three years, we have joined organizations across Ottawa in The Nokia Inside Ride”.
