We’ve already shared why it is a good idea for small businesses to hire co-op students, but as a co-op student, there are many advantages to working for a small business.

When working for a small business, you have the potential to be working side-by-side with the CEO right from the beginning of your work term. This is a unique opportunity that working for a small business allows, and gives you the opportunity to showcase your knowledge and skills, not only to those that in your division, but to the entire organization.
By being in direct contact with senior level employees, right from the beginning of your work-term, you have the opportunity to make a positive impression on your superiors and you will be able to learn all aspects of the business, both inside and out. While you might have the opportunity to work with a small team within a large organization, when working for a small business you could potentially know the names of all the employees within the first week.
2. You will wear many hats
In a small organization, there will be lots of crossover between divisions, and you might be asked to perform a task that does not exactly match with your work profile.
