1) We have one of the Top Animation Training Programs IN THE WORLD!
Algonquin currently ranks sixth in the world and fourth in Canada according to Animation Career Review. 2021 is the second-straight year the College has cracked the Top 10 in international rankings. Graduates from this program have gone on to work at various companies including Disney, and have been a part of Oscar and Emmy winning teams.
2) We Saved You a Seat, Program for Diversity.
The We Saved You a Seat is a three-year pilot project at Algonquin College to establish a diverse learning environment where all learners can succeed. With this program Algonquin College actively recruits women to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) programs, creates programs where women can develop their talents, and attracts more women to non-traditional careers. As part of this program Algonquin College reserves up to 30% of classroom seats for qualified women and works to provide program support, mentoring, and financial incentives to assist women in their education and future career opportunities.
3) We are home to the only Photonics Lab of its kind in the world!

5)BONUS: We have our very own official AC Dog Squad!
That’s right! Algonquin College has an employee-run therapy dogs team! In keeping with the College’s core values of caring, learning, integrity and respect, the Dog Squad program was created to support and enhance the mental health and well-being of employees and students on campus.
Volunteer pet owners and a College organizing committee joined forces to make available the demonstrated benefits provided by therapy animals. Studies have documented how people with access to therapy dogs in the workplace or in schools experience reductions in stress and a greater sense of community engagement.
